Default Need Help

I am new to this forum and have a problem that I have never seen addressed anywhere.

We have a German Shepherd mix and an Australian shepherd mix both females. We haven't been very good about taking them for walks regularly as both pull till they choke and are very hard to handle. Also the Aussie goes berserk if/when we see another dog.

Anyway, to cut to the chase. My husband and I decided recently that we had to be consistent and take them out every day even if it was a short walk just for training. The German shepherd starts howling, yelping, whining the minute we put the leash on and continues to do so pretty much through the entire walk.

Anybody experienced this? Do we just keep going every day and hope she stops in time?

Any info'/advice will be appreciated.
Gill

I am taking care of a Jack Russel that does the same thing, and is also a compulsive barker, My pitbull does not bark, but is a leash puller, I have heard about certain types of harness leashes that discourage a dog from pulling.
