Default Jack Russell wild in the truck

I have a 4 1/2 old male jack russell terrier. He is pretty well mannered other than when he is around other people or in a vehicle. If someone comes to my house, he barks like he is going to tear their head off and then when they come in the door he jumps on them and just wants to lick and play with them. He is never aggressive to a person when he is in contact with them. If there is a window in between him and the person, he looks victious.

When I take him in the truck with me, he whines the whole time and barks if he sees a person or animal. When I get out of the vehicle and leave him, he starts barking wildly and looks like the meanest dog in the world.

Does anyone have any advice on either subject?

Hi Webs! I'm thinking maybe your dog is barking because he sees the window as a hindrance. He wants to play and socialize and that is why he's barking like crazy.

As for your dog whining when he's in your truck, you might want to read on the suggestions given on the page below to train your dog:

I agree with you that he wants to be out of the truck to play and socialize. He loves being around people and hates being locked away from them. I will take a look at that website. thanks

It's sometimes hard to keep up with sociable dogs but I personally prefer having an extremely sociable dog rather than an aggressive dog.

Keep us posted
