Question Tips on Training Puppy to Come

Our Aussie pup is 10 weeks old. She is very smart and will do just about anything for a treat. Sometimes when we tell her to come, she comes right to you. We praise her and give her the treat. Other times, she runs away and will not come. I think she is playing, but I want her to learn the Come command. How early can you teach a puppy to come and can someone give me a good method to try? I tried putting her on a long leash, but when I walk away, she just follows me.

If training the dog on your own does not work for you, you can always go to dog obedience classes with them.

when teaching a puppy to come, try to spend a lot of time practicing and training in variety of situations.Crouch down to the dog's level and open your arms wide as if for a hug.this is the most welcoming posture for dogs.

Consistency is very important. Have a talk with the people in your household and make sure that everyone understands how important consistency is.

Positive reinforcement never fails to help me teach my dogs different commands. Check this as well http://dogobedienceadvice.com/dog_training_books.php -- these books are really very useful.
