My 10 month old Shih Tzu has just gone into heat recently for the first time. Around this time, she has also begun exhibiting unwanted sexual behavior. What is causing this and how do I stop it?
Thank you |

I think she is already on her prime for mating
Let her be. Don't ever consider breeding her though as she is too tiny. If you are open to the idea, you can find her a perfect mate![]() Last edited by melody : 01-12-2009 at 07:35 AM. |

Is your pet Shih Tzu too? That's not too young to be in heat, don't worry too much. But also don't try to breed him if you are thinking about that, that will be too early and as far as I know, there are certain weight requirements for him before he will be fit for breeding.

No, he is not a Shih Tzu...
We thought before but we find out that he is Japanese Spitz mixed Chow Spitz... Now I know that what's happening to him is normal at his age.... I have no plan to breed him... We are happy having him... Thanks melody... I'm not that worried now... ![]()
