German Shephard potty training area??

Please help! I just got a 6 month old german shepherd. She is home alone while I am at work in a Patio area. What do es someone/anyone reccommend to be the area where she should go to the bathroom? Just pads, patch of grass? Im so not sure of how to do this. I am walking her before work & after work. It is the in between during the day I need suggestions on.
