Talking New to this forum

Hi everyone,

we have not had a puppy for 12 years - so we are rusty on the right way to go about training one - we have a 12 yr. old lab and Stella

Stella is a 18 wks old Australian Shepherd puppy - I'm trying to get some advice on her training. She is well behaved at times - it seems though when she comes into the house - she thinks this is the time to run around like a crazy dog - when we asks her to settle down on her blanket it is like pulling teeth until we tire her out and she goes down.

She has sit, come and shake commands perfect but down, stay and quiet are giving her trouble -

like to hear from anyone owning an Aussie who is willing to part with advice on training -
thanks
