Question Bo, the black lab

My son has been hired as a caretaker for two dogs, a retriever and a black lab. The lab was a rescue dog. Whenever there is a thunderstorm, the lab goes crazy and starts tearing apart the house - especially the wood door casing. This is not good. How can he redirect this dogs destructive behavior and save the homeowners woodwork? He has had some sleepless nights during stormy weather. The dog is wonderful otherwise. Any help is appreciated.

Perhaps your son can put the dog in a kennel when it is stormy. This would eliminate any wood chewing. He may still not be quiet, but it is worth a try.
