Default New to dog obedience and boy does my dog need it

Hi, I am new and I just wanted to introduce myself. I have an 8 month old Jug puppy. In case nobody knows what a Jug is it is Jack Russell and Pug. My Mom actually bought the dog for herself because her 3 year old Cocker Spaniel developed Lupus and had to be put to sleep. She currently owns a White American Eskimo and the dog and my Dad did not approve nor want the Jug, so she brought him to me for a little while. That was when he was 8 weeks old. She has recently told me that she wants me to keep him because he loves my kids. He has a lot of behavior issues and I am hoping someone on here can give me some ideas that will help. Thank you. jsreichard

I am also new to obedience and have been doing alot of research. One thing I would reccomend is going to dogproblems.com and buying the book and internet access. They have been alot of help for me and I have already gotten my 2y/o golden, who is extremely hyper, to do a down/stay pretty well. anyway, just thought you might want to check them out.
