Hello everyone! This is new to me!

Hi,
My husband and I will be getting as Australian Cattle Dog next year and would like to find out lots of information. We have had dogs all of our life and raised Miniature Schnauzers for several years. We have also had a Black Lab, Brittany Spaniel, coon dogs and mixed breeds.
The information that we are reading about is kinda scary; that you should have at least a 6 feet fence, they aren't very good with children, and other animals etc.etc.
Has anyone had the experience with the Australian Cattle Dog? What are the pro's and con's? Information will surely be appreciated. Thank You!
