Smile Hello

to be here, Looking for some good advice, can anyone help,
11 wk young yorkie very good no problems with him, very good apart from: bitting not nipping my hand when we are playing with his toys. have tried telling him NO, and telling him to drop the toy but starts to growling a little.
Seems to be aggressive with his toys.
Have now started to make him have one toy at a time and make him sit for it. is this ok. Kind Regards
karenann

Welcome to the forum. Instead of trying to tell him no try yelping as though you were a dog and were very much injured and stop play immediately. Sooner of later he will get the idea that your skin is not up for "grabs"

Our trainer has disk dogs and that's one of the first things he teaches them using this same technique. As soon as the dog touches him with their teeth he yelps loudly and ceases play immediately. They want to continue to play and soon learn that using the teeth results in no play at all.

First, welcome. This is definitely OK. You have to control all the resources, play, food, affection, etc. You decide when he gets to play and when playtime is over. Won't hurt him a bit. As soon as he growls, all playtime and attention is immediately over. He'll quickly learn to play by your rules if he wants to play at all.
