Thinking About Adopting A Second Dog
Hello, I have a question about a family decision we have to make, any advice would be great.
We are currently a one dog house, we have had our golden lab Sally for 6 years now, she has been a reliable friend and loyal member of our growing family. Our children are getting to the stage in life where they are looking to leave the nest and go off to do their own thing.
I am aware that, as well as Mum and Dad, Sally will notice the difference with the kids gone, and may become lonely, so we are looking at our options of adopting a brother or sister dog for Sally to keep her company. She generally gets along fine with other dogs, but there is a big difference between occasional socialization and living with another dog.
6 years in the spotlight is a long time, do you think it's a good idea to introduce another dog at this stage, or will it do more damage than good?
Thanks,
Jillian, Sally and Michael
