i dont know if i can be much help but we just bought an amercan bulldog female on saturday. she is 8 weeks old (a little younger than yours) and ive somewhat noticed the same thing. when we PLAY outside she doesnt really go to the bathroom but she will go if we just walk outside and i stand there and dont do anything..it takes a few munites but she will pee, walk around for a min or two and then poop..that is somewhat of her schedule.. did you try rewarding her IF she goes outside?? does she go right to her food when she comes inside??-if so, dont let her have it UNLESS she goes to the bathroom, that worked for the first few days i had my puppy and she got the hang of it pretty well. i just take mine out first thing in the morning, when i get home and every two hours or so and she rarely has accidents. does your dog go to the bathroom in the cage or where she sleeps??? mine does not therefore after long periods of time in her cage she obviously will need to go therefore i take her right out of the cage and then rightttttt outside..i hope some of this helps a little...let me know!

another thing you should consider trying is bell training. place stringed bells on front and back doors within the puppies reach and whenever you take your pup outside to use the potty-have them tap the bell...you may have to do it yourself until they catch on but its a good way to house train. its good to reward them when this act is performed so they know that its something that they are supposed to be doing and they do not get a treat unless they follow through. be aware that if you have a pup that loves being outside they will tap the bell for that reason alone so its good to use the doors for separate things(front door for walks and play...back door for using the potty)
good luck |

Potty training is one of the main reasons why most owners use dog crate trainings. Your puppy will not walk around throughout the house or the yard, until he is trained. Visit www.dog-obedience-training-ideas.com for ideas on to properly train your puppy.
