Unhappy bad behavior

Our 1 year old puppy has wet on our bed three seperate times. Why does he do this? I think it is behavioral. We would let him sleep on our bed if we could trust him, but at his point we can't.

Any suggestions?

in my experience it is a slight problem but not a big one and it is correctable! He may just be trying to tell you something is bugging him~ my baby girl isis is 2 years old and house trained but because of her past she was really insecure when she first came to live with me about 2 months ago, so she wouldnt go downstairs or outside to do her business without me in the morning. So of course she would do it on the floor of my bedroom (yuck) even though my boyfriend and children were awake downstairs and calling her! after she was reasured a million times that she wasnt in trouble, but that she shouldnt done it, and she was comfortable with her new situation, she stopped doing it and has never looked back! it took about two weeks but it was worth it! just stay positive if something is bugging him and you get upset its going to bug him even more!not letting him in your bed might cause more anxety when he is on it! also dogs dont usually make mess in there personal space, its theres and they want it to stay nice and clean, try taking some time even if its only 10 minutes in the mrning and at night to snuggle up or play on your bed. If he thinks its a place for you and him he might think twice befor making mess in it!!

My puppy Nymphadora has a similar problem. She only peed on my bed once so I don't let her on the bed anymore but, when she is on the floor she generally does well from what I have seen. I have her on newspaper and sometimes she goes on it and when she does she is rewarded for it but, most of the time she does not. My problem with her is she likes to poop on the staircase even after I have put her outside to do her business. It is a little frustrating but, I know that she is still learning. Is there anything I can do to teach her not to poop on the floor and to only poop and pee outside?

Hi, RavenChaos21, I suggest, if you still haven't done this, to clean thoroughly the spot that Nymphadora poops every time. Maybe she already likes the smell of it and marks it as hers. You may also try to feed her on that spot, I mean put her food bowl on it, if it's possible, as they don't like pooping on spots where they eat.

Alright I will try that and see what happens. I have just put her outside and brought her in so hopefully she has gone and won't do it inside the house.

Default Tips on Training Your Dog

With a lot of patience and time as well as repetition will usually end in a positive way. When training you need to praise your dog or give them a treat when they do something right, but when they decide not to behave or do what you want them to do then you have to use a stern NO. It may not be the easiest task in the world but usually after doing the same thing over and over the dog will do what you want them to do. I hope this helps.

It is most likely that your dog had to pee and couldn't or didn't want to go out. Train him/her to do his/her business outside or place a rag or litterbox on a specific place and let your puppy do it on a regular basis everyday until he/she outgrew it and no longer pee in you bed.

Be sure to acknowledge him/her for his/her good conduct.
