Hi Jashan,
Why would you get a puppy without knowing what to feed him first?
Not sure about the Pedigree brand as a general rule; of the supermarket brands (ie not Science Diet or similar veterinarian brands), Purina One is considered the best by most vets.
I would add as much whole-food to your pup's diet as possible - provided, of course, that it's clean and hygienically prepared (you'd be surprised at how many people are happy to feed their dogs rotten or 'off' foods). You can try adding an egg or two a day to your dog's food (raw is fine). This will supply him with a lot of protein, fat, and vitamins; in addition, if you crack it onto his dry kibble, he'll enjoy his food a lot more!
You can also give him the odd cup of milk; dilute it with water if you want (half and half is OK). Don't give him too much though - one cup a day is sufficient, as dogs can't process the lactose in milk and more may upset his tummy.
Vegetables, raw or cooked, are also fine - steer away from grapes and raisins, as these are toxic to dogs. Most dogs seem to like carrots and tomatoes especially.
Yogurt and curd is also fine in moderation.

I have a German Shepherd and have had several before this one. Give puppies lots of quality protein as they are very active and still growing up to 2 years. Meat, fish, fowl, cottage cheese, cheese added to their kibble are good sources of protein. Extra calcium is good for the large boned dogs.
