I have two australian shepherds. One is 2, Harley and the other, Rowdy, is almost 1. Harley likes to bark at people when they walk by our fence and at cats, etc. We bought him a bark control collar that worked like a charm until Rowdy realized that it was a lovely chew toy. We have gone through 4 collars and each are destroyed in less time. Rowdy is not bothered by the bitter apple spray. Can anyone tell me if there is collar that cannot be chewed (other than chains b/c I wouldnt be able to attach the bark controller onto that collar)? Or is there a way to stop this behavior quickly? Especially since its done out of my site? Thanks for the help!

I can relate to your frustration. I had a roommate with two dogs (I had two as well) and one of them would do the same thing. He would also 'free' any of the others that we had tied for any reason. We put hot sauce on the collars and it seemed to deter him. Just be careful that it doesn't irritate the skin of the dog that's wearing it, and reapply often. You may have to try different varieties and strengths. Hope this helps, good luck.
