Default 2 year old Bitting. HELP

I have adopted a 2 year old Husky/ Malamute mix and he is extremely protective. He is aggressive towards males and he is protective in his domain. We can not let anyone into our home without him bitting or barking. He doesn't like to be held or grabbed in certain positions. I need help! He is a great dog and we love him to death. Any advise would be greatly appreciated to resolve this issue.

I think its a typical case of territorial aggression. Dogs who believe that their turf is being violated will defensively react in the same way as your Husky.

Generally, this aggression may stem from past experiences, genetic disposition and previous upbringing. With such a disposition, dogs will instinctively display aggressive behavior because they feel their territory is being threatened.

Obedience training based on positive reinforcement is the best approach to resolve this issue. Part of this training involves establishing yourself as the 'Alpha dog'.

Unless you assert yourself as the pack leader, he will naturally feel obligated to step up and protect what he naturally perceives to be 'his domain'. Shifting the balance of power towards yourself will make a big difference in his current attitude.
