Default poor chihuahua

We have a 3-4year old female. She is very nervous and fearful. We gort her when she was about 6-8 months old. we babied her all the time, but its just gotten so hectic now. We had her mate, an older male of the same breed, but when he died she stopped minding and being housetrained. When we try to take her for a walk she acts like shes gonna faint. she rolls in the floor whining , cowering and covering her eyes with her paws. I know its our fault, but when i do get the leash on her she just lies down and will not walk. i would literally have to drag her. i mean drag laying on the ground. after about 10 minutes with the leash on her and lying on the ground beside her she will set up but not move till we take the leash off her. She seems very nervous and shakey all the time. could someone please help me thanks

Hi tallulah bell, dog anxiety comes in many ways, a simple change of routine can make some dogs anxious. Judging from how you describe your pet, she seems to be really stressed because of companion loss. I suggest for you to be more patient and make your pet feel calm and secured at all times. Make sure that at these times, there is someone looking after your dog because she seems to be showing signs of separation anxiety. Then gradually increase her socialization with other dogs in your community, until she's able to cope and be normal again or until you decide to have another pet dog to be with her.

If there is one thing I learned about dogs, its this: "Don't treat them like humans" I saw this once from a dog video I watched a couple of months ago. The host said that dogs live in the present and that you should always make sure that your dog sees you as the alpha dog and everything else will follow.

uberglamorous, got a point there...
Don't spoiled your dog in simple word...

In tallullah bell situation...
I think dog need time to recover...
Maybe introducing her to other dog would be fine...
In that case she will find another companion...
