Default Attachment/Separation Anxiety

We have a sweet, 4yr old Papillon named Mia. She is a puppy mill rescue; was rescued 3 months ago and has been with us for a month now. She has become very attached to our 8 year old daughter. So much so that she is only happy when our daughter is around. I am the feeder, walker, and groomer but I also give her (atleast try too) love. Problem is: Mia can only be apart from Talia for 2 minutes before she begins to whine, bark, drool, dig...you name it. It doesn't even matter if the house is full with other people if our daughter is not there. My husband is often gone due to his job and I work from 9 to 5 with a twenty minute commute each way. I am afraid that Mia could be having a meltdown while our daughter is gone to the sitters and/or school during the day. I'd appreciate any advice as I truly want her to have a better way of life than what she experienced at the puppy mill. Thank you.
