So here's the deal. My mother and I share a house, we are both disabled and it is easier this way. We normally get along great but lately we have been arguing over how to change her Chihuahua's behavior.
She has had her Chihuahua (Female) almost 3 years now.The Chihuahua has been a wonderful dog, although she has always been a bit aggressive toward dogs she did not know(but never bit). And I adopted a Multi-poo (Male) 4 day's ago. My multi-poo is the most laid back dog in the world. When the Chihuahua bites him he just stand's there. Her Chihuahua has begun to lunge and attack the poodle with no warning. There seems to be nothing provoking these attack's. There will be no food, toy's, or human's near by...and he will be minding his own business when she lunges and bites! I am not claiming to be an expert here but I told my mom I thought that putting her in her large canvas crate when she bit might help. My mother had been just picking her up and holding her while rubbing her back. I think that was telling her its ok to bite. I am desperate for help here...I have spent 6 hours looking on the internet for help to no avail. What should we do to teach the Chihuahua she cannot bite him just because she feels like acting up?

Good day. I am a new member here so may be a little late with the reply. Hopefully the problem has been fixed. You are absolutly right with the opinion that every time your mother picks him up after her dog bites at the other one that she is just encourageing him. If the problem is not fixed yet what needs to be done is you or your mother will have to put him in his place. Next time he does it say NO very firmly (or use some other word and it will have to be the same word everytime), get to him quickly, get ahold of him and look him in the eye and say NO BITE. You are not looking to hurt him just get his attention. When he learns that whenever you use that particular word he needs to stop what he is doing immediatly because trouble is coming. It may take quite a bit of time to slow this type of behavior down but stay consistant and hang in there.

You might want to read on the discussion on the other thread about dogs biting too. There's a lot of really good tips offered by different users on that thread. Here's the link:
