We have a Yorkie that is 4 yrs old. He is large for a Yorkie(10lbs.)This dog is fairly timid. Will roll to his back at the drop of a hat.
We have a new rescue Shih-Tzsu which is 3 yrs old. Was most likely neglected. The new dog is very affectionate with my wife and I. The problem is the Shih-Tzsu wants to play, playfull nips at the other dogs feet and tail. But the Yorkie does not want to play at all. The new dog is making a real pest out of himself to the Yorkie. Any advise? Andy |

the dogs need to work it out. Eventually the yorkie is going to become fed up enough that it will let the playful shih tzu know that they are not into playing. If you step in then the yorkie will always look to you to step in. This will also help the yorkie gain some confidence by having to deal with the other dog themselves.
