I have a 7 year old (boy) Staffordshire Terrier, just got a new puppy (american bull dog) she is 8 weeks old. Likes to chew on her toys but the problem is my older dog Bruttus, attacks her if she is playing anything. Almost like a bully. He bit her twice, I think accidently, but caused some bleeding. She is not scared of him but afraid of when she gets bigger this might become more of a problem. How do I get the older dog to realize he is not missing anything, other than that he loves her.

![]() We have a seven year old male staffy ad about eight months ago we bought a female staffy pup. When we brought her home we were worried about how he would react but we found that he was more afraid of her to start with as she was so small but then as she grows they are inseperable. At first we had a cage for dotti to eat and sleep in,put it next to coopers bed and that way they slept together, now she jumps on him, hangs off him and generally is a pain in the butt to him ,but over 8 months they have become best of friends. it just took alot of time and patience and now they share a bed and toys(cooper ever played with toys before)and we found having a friend was the best thing we ever did for him.So dont give up just yet, give your boy a chance to get used to the newbie and in a few months you may find they too are good friends.i hope this helps.. |
