bassett hound

hi i have a bassett hound puppy who's now 9 months old recently he was lame on his front paw. has anybody else had that problem? just wondered if this problem was a one off or will reoccur. i took him vets and hes fine now they said his elbow joint has two bones attached to it and one is growing slightly quicker than the other. hes fine now since having xrays and medicine and the vet said it may have been a strain that caused the lameness. anybody else experienced the same?
